Fungal Nail
What is Fungal Nail?
Fungal nail is a common fungal infection that most commonly affects toenails. The infection typically begins as a white or yellow/brown spot under your toenail, however as the nail fungus goes deeper, the nail may discolour, thicken and crumble and can gradually spread to the entire nail plate. Fungal nail can cause discomfort and be the cause of embarrassment as the nail becomes unsightly, meaning people usually avoid wearing open shoes or exposing their feet.
Unfortunately, in most cases fungal nail is likely to spread and worsen until treated. We recommend seeking treatment as early as possible to prevent the infection from spreading to the nail bed.
